A woman in Noida claimed to have found centipedes inside an ice cream tub she ordered through an instant delivery app, Food Safety Officials said, adding that they have launched an investigation into the matter. As soon as the Food and Supplies Department team got information about the matter, they reached the delivery app store located in Sector-22 and banned the sale of all ice creams. The ice cream sample will be tested. The department has also said that a case will be registered against the ice cream manufacturing company and the delivery app.

Sector-12 resident Deepa Devi had ordered ice cream from an instant delivery app to make mango shake for the children. Opened the ice cream lid. A centipede was seen walking in it. He lodged a complaint on the helpline number of the app.

Admitting its mistake, the company refunded the money for the ice cream. On receiving information about the matter, a team of Food Safety Officials also reached Sector-12. On the basis of the complaint of the victim, they reached the app store located in Sector-22 and banned the sale of ice cream. Chief Food Safety Officer Akshay Goyal said that action is being taken promptly by taking the complaint in the matter.
