Nomination Process Commences for Phase 3 of Lok Sabha Polls

The nomination process for the third phase of Lok Sabha polls, covering 94 constituencies across 12 states, commenced on Friday. This phase of elections is scheduled for May 7, and April 19 marks the deadline for filing nomination papers. The process initiated following a notification issued by the Election Commission on behalf of the President.

Another notice was sent for the “delayed” vote in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul area. This happened because the BSP candidate sadly passed away. Originally, the election for this area was planned for April 26, but it was delayed so the party could pick a new candidate as per the rules.

The states and territories involved in the third part of voting include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

The seven-part voting to choose the 18th Lok Sabha starts on April 19 and finishes on June 1. Votes will be counted on June 4.
