Berhampur: In a tragic incident, five persons were killed in a severe head-collision between a scooter and a motorcycle near Kesari Patna village under Bhanjanagar block in Odisha’s Ganjam district late on Thursday.
Another person was critically injured in the mishap.
The deceased have been recognized as Srikanta Gouda of Asurabandha, Manoj Dakua of Dulada, and Mahendra Nayak, Jayant Batatya and Rajani Gouda, all staffers of the electricity department at Soroda.
According to sources, the collision unfolded at around 11.30 pm. Three among them died on the spot under the impact of the collision, while two others succumbed to injuries at a health facility at Soroda. The critically injured, Purna Guada of Dulada, is currently undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
Two more bike-rider were killed after their bike crashed into a truck at Uluda Chhak under Kamarda police limits in Balasore district late last night.
