Pakistani leaders praying for Congress: PM Modi’s dig at Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Before the third phase of Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Elections 2024), Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public meeting in Anand, Gujarat on Thursday, launched a strong attack on the Congress. During this, while referring to Pakistan, he indirectly took a dig at former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. He said Pakistan was desperate to make ‘Shehzada’ the prime minister.

He also said the Congress party was a ‘mureed’ (follower) of Pakistan. PM Modi said that Pakistani leaders are praying for the Congress and Pakistan is eager to make the prince the Prime Minister of India.

Addressing an election rally in Anand, Gujarat, the Prime Minister said, “Congress is dying here and Pakistanis are crying.” He said, “Pakistani leaders want to make Congress’s ‘prince’ the Prime Minister of India.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks came at a time when Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, a former minister in Imran Khan’s cabinet in Pakistan, praised Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday. Chaudhary Fawad captioned the video, “Rahul is on fire…” Attacking the Congress party further, Prime Minister Modi said during the rally, “The country has seen Congress rule for 60 years and BJP’s ‘sevakaal’ for 10 years. In 60 years of Congress rule, about 60 percent of the rural population did not have toilet facilities. BJP made it happen in just 10 years.”

Prime Minister Modi also alleged that the Congress wants to change the Constitution of India and give reservation of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) to Muslims. He said, “I challenge the Congress to give in writing that it will not amend the Constitution to provide reservation on religious grounds.” Listing the achievements of the BJP, PM Modi said, “In the last 10 years, we have provided tap water to 14 crore houses, while the Congress provided tap water to only 3 crore houses in 60 years.”

The Prime Minister said, “I have been working in Gujarat for many years. In 2014, you sent me to serve the country. While working in Gujarat, we had only one mantra that the development of Gujarat is for the development of India. I have only one dream, in 2047, when we complete 100 years of independence, India will be a ‘developed India’.” PM Modi said, “It is my guarantee that I will work 24 hours a day to make India a developed country by 2047.”
