PM Modi meets Japanese PM Fumio Kishida in Hiroshima

Hiroshima: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, in Hiroshima. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance India-Japan friendship in a number of areas including trade, economy and culture.

And today Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. PM Modi will hold a meeting with Zelensky ahead of the Quad summit on Saturday.

India-Japan relations will get stronger: PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi said, “I congratulate you for the wonderful event of G7. I am also very grateful to you for inviting India to the G7 Summit. The Bodhi tree I had given to you, you planted in Hiroshima and as it grows, Indo-Japanese relations will be strengthened. This is the tree that bestows the immortality of Buddha’s thoughts.

Unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima and PM Modi thanked the Government of Japan for giving us the opportunity to install and unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. We all should follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and the world One should walk on the path of welfare. This would be a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima will further the idea of non-violence. It is a great moment for me to know that the Bodhi tree that I gifted to the Japanese PM has been planted here in Hiroshima so that people can understand the importance of peace when they come here. I respect Mahatma Gandhi.
