The incident occurred during the ‘Memantha Siddham’ bus yatra in Vijayawada, where CM Jagan sustained a deep gash under his eyebrow from a stone thrown by an unidentified individual. Despite the injury, Jagan received immediate first-aid on the bus and continued his journey.
KK Raju, a leader of the ruling party, led a protest against the attack. He accused opposition parties like the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party of being involved. State IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath also condemned the attack, saying it was driven by politics.
This incident happened as elections are coming up in Andhra Pradesh for both assembly and Lok Sabha seats, scheduled for May 13, with the results on June 4. There are 175 assembly seats in total, and parties are getting ready for a tough competition.
