New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved a significant milestone as the subscriber count on his personal YouTube channel crossed an impressive 200 million on Tuesday. This feat distinguishes him as the only world leader with such a massive subscriber base, showcasing a substantial lead over his international counterparts.

Unprecedented Engagement: 4.5 Billion Views

Officials highlighted that the videos posted on PM Modi’s YouTube channel have garnered an astounding 4.5 billion views, setting him far ahead of global leaders in terms of online engagement. This accomplishment reflects the widespread popularity and influence of the Indian leader on the digital platform.

Global Leaders and Their Digital Footprints

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro emerges as the closest contender, boasting approximately 64 lakh subscribers — a figure that stands at less than one-third of PM Modi’s colossal subscriber base. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy trails with 22.4 crore views, a mere fraction compared to PM Modi’s viewership.

In contrast, US President Joe Biden’s YouTube presence registers with 7.89 lakh subscribers, while Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lags further with 3.16 lakh subscribers.

‘Yoga with Modi’ Gains Traction

The YouTube channel ‘Yoga with Modi,’ linked to the Prime Minister, has also gained significant traction, boasting over 73,000 subscribers. This underscores the popularity of wellness content associated with the Indian leader.

Rahul Gandhi’s Channel and Indian Leaders Comparison

In comparison, former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi’s YouTube channel has accrued more than 3.5 million subscribers, reflecting a sixth of PM Modi’s impressive count.

Pioneering Digital Engagement

PM Narendra Modi’s foray into the digital realm dates back to 2007 when he was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Recognized as a trailblazer in Indian politics, he astutely grasped the transformative potential of social media platforms for public communication. His adept utilization of these platforms has not only set milestones but has also revolutionized political communication, marking a paradigm shift in how leaders engage with citizens in the digital age.
