In line with his two-day visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate significant infrastructure projects on the second day, including the launch of the second Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat train and the New Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction segment of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his two-day visit to Varanasi, has been actively inaugurating various developmental projects. On the first day, he unveiled initiatives such as the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train and introduced multi-language and braille translations of classic Tamil literature. Additionally, he participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, interacting with beneficiaries of government schemes.

The 2nd day of the visit promises more inaugurations, with PM Modi set to flag off the second Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat train and launch the New Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction segment of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), providing a substantial boost to the logistics sector.

Scheduled to be flagged off at 2:15 pm, the saffron-colored Vande Bharat train boasts advanced features, including onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, bio-vacuum toilets, diffused LED lighting, and more. The regular operation of this express service is set to commence on December 20, 2023, offering a convenient and efficient travel experience between Varanasi and New Delhi.

PM Modi will also inaugurate this segment of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), a crucial rail route connecting districts in Uttar Pradesh. With an investment of ₹10,903 crore, this section facilitates the transportation of coal from West Bengal and Jharkhand to power plants in North India, contributing to the country’s energy infrastructure.

Apart from these infrastructural developments, PM Modi will participate in the village edition of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and inaugurate the Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi, showcasing a comprehensive approach towards rural and cultural development.
