PM Narendra Modi to lay foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 railway stations today

New Delhi: The appearance of 508 railway stations of the country is going to change soon. PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for their redevelopment today. These 508 railway stations will be re-developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

New Delhi: The appearance of 508 railway stations of the country is going to change soon. PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for their redevelopment today. These 508 railway stations will be re-developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

According to the information, they are being built after planning for the next 40 years. The biggest challenge in this is to do new work without disturbing the rest of the traffic. For which complete planning has been done. It is believed that in the next two to two and a half years, all these 508 railway stations will be built from scratch.

PM Modi said in a tweet that ‘August 6 is a historic day for the Railways Sector. The foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across India will be laid at 11 am under the historic Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The redevelopment, to be undertaken at a cost of approximately Rs 25,000 crore, will revolutionize the way railway infrastructure is conceived in our country. It will boost ‘Ease of Living’ and enhance comfort as well as convenience. Special care has also been taken to ensure that the stations are in harmony with the local culture, heritage and architecture.’

Under this scheme, 144 stations of Northern Railway are to be re-developed. 71 stations have been covered in the first phase. A total of 33 stations in Delhi division are to be redeveloped, out of which 14 stations have been selected for the first phase.

According to media reports, Rs 460 crore will be spent on Ludhiana station. Chandigarh will be developed with Rs 436 crore and Delhi Cantt station with Rs 371 crore.

Rs 337 crore has been allocated for Ghaziabad station and Rs 262 crore for Faridabad. Similarly, 259 crores will be spent in Jammu and Kashmir and 99 crores in Jalandhar Cantt.
Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of 156 stations included in the scheme.

80 stations in Madhya Pradesh, 40 in Haryana, 72 in Andhra Pradesh, 1 in Arunachal Pradesh, 50 in Assam, 92 in Bihar, 32 in Chhattisgarh, 13 in Delhi, 3 in Goa, 87 in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh Out of four, 57 stations of Jharkhand have been included.

Apart from this, 56 in Karnataka, 35 in Kerala, 126 in Maharashtra, one each in Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland, 57 in Odisha, 30 in Punjab, 83 in Rajasthan, 75 in Tamil Nadu, 40 in Telangana, Tripura Four, one from Chandigarh, 4 from Jammu and Kashmir, three from Puducherry, 11 from Uttarakhand and 98 from Bengal are included. At the same time, maximum 156 stations of Uttar Pradesh have been included.
