In a significant development for India’s textile sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Bharat Tex – 2024, marking one of the largest-ever global textile events in the country. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam on Monday at 10:30 am.

Bharat Tex – 2024, organized from Monday to Thursday, aligns with the 5F Vision of the Prime Minister, emphasizing a unified approach from farm to foreign via fiber, fabric, and fashion, encompassing the entire textiles value chain. The event aims to showcase India’s prowess in the textiles sector and solidify its position as a global textile powerhouse.

Organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Centre, Bharat Tex – 2024 is built on the pillars of trade and investment, with a paramount focus on sustainability. The four-day event will host more than 65 knowledge sessions featuring over 100 global panelists addressing various sector-related issues.

Bharat Tex – 2024 will be held at a venue adorned with dedicated pavilions on sustainability and circularity, an ‘Indi Haat’, and fashion presentations covering themes such as Indian Textiles Heritage, sustainability, and global designs. Interactive fabric testing zones and product demonstrations will also be featured.

The event anticipates the participation of policymakers and global CEOs, with over 3,500 exhibitors, 3,000 buyers from 100 countries, and more than 40,000 business visitors, including textiles students, weavers, artisans, and textile workers. With expectations of over 50 announcements and MoUs during the event, Bharat Tex – 2024 aims to boost investment and trade in the textiles sector, aligning with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
