New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for circulating an image prominently featuring her brother and fellow party leader Rahul Gandhi, portraying him with a bearded visage and seven heads, reminiscent of Ravana, a mythical character.
In a strongly-worded message, Priyanka Gandhi addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda, questioning the depths to which politics and public discourse were being dragged. She wrote, “Most respected @narendramodi ji and @JPNadda, to what level of degradation do you want to take politics and debate? Do you agree with the violent and provocative tweets being posted from the official Twitter handle of your party? Not much time passed and you took a vow of uprightness. Have you forgotten oaths like promises?” The message was translated from Hindi.

The BJP, on Thursday, launched a fierce attack against Rahul Gandhi by sharing the graphic depicting him as Ravana, linking him to George Soros, a billionaire investor accused of anti-India activities. The image was posted on the party’s official social media handle, accompanied by the caption, “India is in Danger. He is Evil. Anti Dharma. Anti Ram. His aim is to destroy Bharat.”
The graphic sparked intense debates on social media, highlighting the deep-seated political rivalry and polarization in India’s contemporary political landscape.
Meanwhile, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal condemned the image shared by the BJP, describing it as “shameful.” He expressed his outrage on social media, saying, “No words are enough to condemn the ‘shameful’ graphic on the BJP handle comparing Rahul Gandhi ji to Ravana. Their nefarious intentions are clear, they want to murder him. He, who lost his grandmother and father to assassinations. They withdrew his SPG protection to score petty political points”.
