Probe agency issues fresh summons to Lalu Prasad, his son Tejashwi Yadav in money laundering case

Bihar: On Friday, officials said the Probe Agency Enforcement Directorate issued fresh summons to former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav to appear at the federal agency's Patna office later this month in connection with a money laundering probe.

Bihar: On Friday, officials said the Probe Agency Enforcement Directorate issued fresh summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav to appear at the federal agency’s Patna office later this month in connection with a money laundering probe.

Officials informed that they have been summoned to appear at the zonal office of federal agency in Patna on January 29th and 30th. The summons were served personally to them at their Bihar residence. They added that a team went to the official residence of Lalu Prasad’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi in ​​Patna to serve the summons.

This time, the two have been asked to depose at the Enforcement Directorate office on Bank Road in the capital. Earlier, ED had arrested in alleged associate of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav in connection with a money laundering probe into the alleged land-for-jobs scam case.

The alleged scam was done during the period when Lalu Prasad was the railway minister in the UPA-1 government. The ED case, filed under the criminal sections of the PMLA, stems from a complaint lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It was alleged that from 2004 to 2009, several people were appointed to Group ‘D’ posts in various sectors of the Indian Railways and in return they transferred their land to the family members of the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and AK Infosystems Private Limited.
