Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, currently leading the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Madhya Pradesh, is set to join the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) rally in Patna, marking a significant show of unity among opposition parties. The rally, hosted by the RJD, holds strategic importance as Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is also expected to participate, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the opposition.
Jairam Ramesh, the Congress’ general secretary in-charge of communications, announced a temporary halt in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, on its 50th day. The pause allows Rahul Gandhi to attend the RJD rally in Patna and participate in an interaction on the Agniveer scheme.
The RJD, a significant player in Bihar and an erstwhile ally of the Congress, is hosting the rally on March 3 to convey a unified message to the nation. This collaboration gains significance as it showcases a united front among opposition parties.
During a previous leg of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the RJD, had joined the march and accompanied the former Congress chief in an open jeep. This shared participation underlines the strategic importance of regional and national alliances.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which entered its 50th day, is part of a larger initiative covering 6,700 kilometers through 15 states, from Manipur to Mumbai. It aims to underscore the theme of “nyay” or justice, engaging with the public along the route.
The yatra will take a half-day break for Rahul Gandhi’s participation in the Patna rally, and it is expected to resume from Shivpuri the following day. The strategic alignment and joint efforts by opposition leaders reflect an evolving political landscape as the country heads towards the next electoral cycle.
