Rajasthan: 40-year-old Lawyer beaten to death over land dispute

Jaipur: On Friday, an official said that a lawyer was beaten to death by a group of people over a land dispute in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. On receiving information about this incident, local police along with CO Sadar Lakshan Ram reached on the spot.

Jaipur: On Friday, an official said that a lawyer was beaten to death by a group of people over a land dispute in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. On receiving information about this incident, local police along with CO Sadar Lakshan Ram reached on the spot. He was 40-year-old.

They further said that a case has been registered in the matter and four people have been detained. They added that after the prime interrogations with the local villagers, the police took the body of the deceased in their custody and kept it in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

About the incident, official said that the victim was identified as Mohan Lal Yadav. He was returning home after attending a wedding on Thursday night when the accused persons hit his car with a tractor near Takhatpura village.

He also said that then a group of 10-12 people thrashed him with sticks and iron rods and later left him on a highway. He added that local residents informed police about the incident. Yadav was taken to a hospital in Bhilwara and was referred to Udaipur from there.

A senior police officer said that there was a dispute going on regarding some land of advocate Mohanlal. In such a situation, the people of his own community attacked him and beat him to death. The son of the deceased advocate has filed a case against 5-7 people.

Police have registered a case under sections 147, 148, 149 and 302 of IPC and started investigation. At the same time, the police formed a team to arrest the named accused and started searching for them. According to the information, four accused have been arrested in the case and they are being interrogated.
