Rajasthan assembly elections: Polling agent dies of suspected cardiac arrest in Pali district

Rajasthan: On Saturday, an official said that a polling agent of a candidate in the Rajasthan's Pali district died due to a suspected cardiac arrest. On Saturday early hours at 7 am polling for the Rajasthan assembly elections began.

Rajasthan: On Saturday, an official said that a polling agent in the Rajasthan’s Pali district died due to a suspected cardiac arrest. According to the information, the victims was identified as Shanti Lal.

At 7 am on Saturday early hours, polling for the Rajasthan assembly elections began. The official said that he was polling agent at booth number 47 of Sumerpur Assembly constituency, fainted at the centre.

Give information about this incident,he further said that he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and later to the district hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The suspected cause of death was heart failure. He added,“The suspected cause is a heart attack.”

The party affiliation of the polling agent was not immediately known. Voting is being held in 199 out of 200 assembly constituencies of the state to elect members of the new assembly. The BJP aims to oust the ruling Congress led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot from power. The results will be declared on December 3. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth voting. More than 1.70 lakh security personnel have been deployed across the state.
