Ayodhya: On the occasion of Baishakh Shukla Akshaya Tritiya, 11 thousand Hapus mangoes were offered to Ram Lalla seated in the Ramjanmabhoomi temple. Earlier on this great festival, Ramlala’s court was decorated with mango fruits. This special offering has arrived from Pune metropolis of Maharashtra state. The devotee there has also sent bottles of mango juice along with a basket of mangoes and seasonal fruits.

Ram devotees of Pune had made preparations several months in advance to dedicate Hapus mangoes to Lord Ram. For this, the best Hapus mangoes of Pune were selected and packed in specially prepared baskets and brought to the Lord’s temple in Ayodhya. Today, on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, these mangoes and bottles of mango juice were dedicated to God. Farmers in various parts of the country including Maharashtra dedicate the first batch of their crops to their deity.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Sharad Sharma told Amar Ujala that ever since the inauguration of Lord Ram’s temple, devotees from all over the country and the world have been coming to Ayodhya and showing their love for the Lord in their own ways. He said that just as Mata Shabari had demonstrated her devotion towards God by feeding him plums, similarly the devotees have shown their love towards God by offering these mangoes to God.

He said that in view of this love of Ram devotees spread all over the world including India, those political parties should desist from criticizing Ram and Ram devotees who keep hurting the sentiments of people with their objectionable comments for their petty political gains. .
