Aizawl: The Election Commission of India has issued an order for re-polling at a polling booth in Mizoram due to a technical glitch that occurred on Tuesday.
As per the directive, the re-polling will be held at Mizoram’s Aizawl South-III constituency. The issue arose when polling personnel at the Muallungthu polling station, located within Aizawl South-III constituency, conducted actual voting on Tuesday without the mandatory mock-poll.

The re-polling at Muallungthu polling station is scheduled to take place between 7 am and 4 pm on Friday. A total of 1,084 electors, which includes 548 female voters, are eligible to cast their votes at this polling station, according to officials.
Despite this technical glitch, the Mizoram assembly elections were largely peaceful, with over 77% of the 8.57 lakh electors having already cast their votes on the initial polling day. The voting percentage is expected to increase further once final reports are received from remote districts.
This re-polling decision aims to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and uphold the principles of a fair and transparent democratic exercise in Mizoram.
