Remarks against PM: Relief to Congress leader Pawan Khera, Supreme Court extends interim bail till March 3

The Supreme Court on Monday extended the interim relief granted to Congress leader Pawan Kheda from arrest. The hearing in this case in the Supreme Court has been adjourned till March 3, 2023. The Supreme Court has given time to the Assam and UP governments to file their reply on Kheda's petition. The court said the interim bail will continue.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday extended the interim relief granted to Congress leader Pawan Kheda from arrest. The hearing in this case in the Supreme Court has been adjourned till March 3, 2023. The Supreme Court has given time to the Assam and UP governments to file their reply on Kheda’s petition. The court said the interim bail will continue.

Let us know that in the last hearing, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Congress leader Pawan Kheda. The Supreme Court has to consider transferring a total of 3 FIRs registered in Assam and UP to one place.

Earlier, Pawan Kheda had made objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this case, Assam Police officials stopped Pawan Kheda from boarding the Raipur-bound flight and shortly thereafter arrested him at the IGI Airport. However, a Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to Congress leader Pawan Kheda following the Supreme Court’s order.

The Congress party had opposed the arrest of Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda at the Delhi airport. Regarding this incident, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had said that a notice is given if the opposition raises issues in Parliament.
