Russian President Vladimir Putin proposes reappointing Mikhail Mishustin as Prime Minister

Russian President Vladimir Putin: Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed reappointing Mikhail Mishustin as Prime Minister. Putin’s chief technocrat will be kept in charge of the government as Moscow pushes for war in Ukraine, the speaker of parliament’s lower house said on Friday.

According to reports, Putin has submitted a proposal to the lower house ‘State Duma’ to appoint Mikhail Mishustin as the country’s Prime Minister. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin gave this information on Friday.

Mishustin’s Duma approval is almost certain, as there is virtually no opposition in parliament, which has supported Putin in all his decisions.

Volodin said that the candidacy for the post of prime minister will be discussed in all factions of the parliament. The Russian President will hold office for the next six years until 2030. After the inauguration, the Russian cabinet headed by Mishustin resigned in accordance with the law. The candidacy for the post of prime minister will be approved at the State Duma session later on Friday.
