Jammu and Kashmir,Kulgam : In a significant operation, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam neutralized three terrorists during an encounter. The operation was initiated based on specific intelligence inputs.
Security forces engaged in a cordon and search operation in Kulgam’s Redwani area late Monday following credible information about terrorist presence. The encounter ensued during the operation and continued into Tuesday.
This development follows a recent widening of search operations to Kathua district, initiated after the unfortunate killing of a village defence guard in a brief encounter with terrorists on April 28. The encounter occurred in remote Panara village in Chochru Gala heights.The pursuit intensified after reports suggested the infiltration of two groups of terrorists from across the border, prompting heightened vigilance across the region.
Additional Director General of Police (Jammu zone) Anand Jain had stated on April 29 that two groups of terrorists were suspected to have infiltrated from across the border, heightening security concerns in the region.
