West Bengal/Farakka: Vande Bharat Express is one of the best trains in the country. But the incident of continuous stone pelting is coming to the fore. Vande Bharat Express has been targeted once again in West Bengal. On Saturday evening, stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat Express train in Murshidabad near Farakka in West Bengal. In this stone pelting, the windows of the train were shattered. At present, there is no information about anyone getting injured in the stone pelting.
Kaushik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Eastern Railway termed the incident as unfortunate. He said, ‘This is a very unfortunate incident. It will be probed, probe has been ordered. This is not the first incident of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express train in West Bengal, many such cases have come to the fore even before this.
This type of incident has happened in Bengal before
Earlier in January 2023, two coaches of the Vande Bharat Express train were pelted with stones at Phansideva in Darjeeling district. During this, the glasses of two windows of the train were broken. Earlier, a similar incident happened near Malda. Stones were thrown at the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat train. Apart from West Bengal, such cases have also come to light in other states of the country.
Stones pelted on Mysuru-Chennai Vande Bharat Express train
Last month, stones were pelted on the Mysuru-Chennai Vande Bharat Express train. Earlier, stones were pelted on the Vande Bharat train in Mahbubabad, Telangana. In January, there was an incident of stone pelting in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. A few days later, Prime Minister Modi was about to inaugurate it. In this way, in 2023, many incidents of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat Express train have come to the fore.
