Delhi Rain: It has been raining heavily in the country's national capital Delhi since Wednesday morning. This has provided great relief to the people living in Delhi-NCR from the sticky heat. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi today are likely to be around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius.

The heat index i.e. the felt temperature reached 50 degrees Celsius as compared to 46 degrees Celsius a day earlier. It was hot at night in the city for the fourth consecutive day and the minimum temperature was around 33 degrees Celsius.
The scorching heat continues in Delhi NCR. On Tuesday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. On Monday it was 44.6 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, it will be partly cloudy on Wednesday. There are chances of heat wave at various places. Gusty wind will blow at a speed of 25 to 35 km per hour during the day.
Big relief to Delhiites as Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday evening had a fresh spell of rain as Delhi's Mungeshpur area logged a maximum of 52.3 degrees Celsius, the highest-ever temperature recorded in the city. Noida also received light rain showers giving mild respite from severe heatwave.
North India Extreme Heat: The extreme heat in North India has made life difficult for people. The temperature has broken old records at many places, including Churu in Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR and many areas of Uttar Pradesh, where the temperature was recorded near and above 50 degrees on Tuesday.
