Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, TDP’s Guntur Lok Sabha hopeful in Andhra Pradesh, stands out as one of the state’s wealthiest political contenders. His assets totaling Rs 5,785.28 crore have garnered significant attention ahead of the upcoming elections.
Chandrasekhar, a renowned doctor, has diversified his success with lucrative business ventures, reflecting in his substantial wealth. His movable assets, including fixed and term deposits, amount to Rs 2,316 crore, while his wife, Koneru Sriratna, holds assets worth Rs 2,289 crore.
Despite their considerable wealth, the couple carries liabilities of Rs 519 crore each. Additionally, they jointly own shares in approximately 101 companies worldwide, indicating their extensive business interests.
Chandrasekhar’s academic achievements, including an MD from the Geisinger Medical Centre in Pennsylvania and an MBBS from Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, further highlight his credentials.
As the Lok Sabha elections approach, Chandrasekhar will contest against K Venkata Rosaiah of the ruling YSR Congress Party in Guntur. This constituency, historically contested between the TDP and YSRCP, has witnessed fierce electoral battles.
In 2019, Galla Jayadev of TDP secured victory in Guntur, signaling the party’s dominance. The 2014 elections also saw TDP’s strong performance, reaffirming its influence in the region.
