Telangana polls 2023: Congress workers clash with BRS supporters in Ibrahimpatnam during rally; 3 injured

Massive clash erupts between the workers of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and Telangana Congress in Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency during a nomination rally on Thursday. Disgusting scenes were witnessed as the workers from both sides indulged in stone pelting resulting in injuries to supporters on both sides and the police personnel, sources reported.

Hyderabad: Massive clash erupts between the workers of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and Telangana Congress in Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency during a nomination rally on Thursday. Disgusting scenes were witnessed as the workers from both sides indulged in stone pelting resulting in injuries to supporters on both sides and the police personnel, sources reported.

BRS candidate Manchireddy Kishan Reddy and Congress nominee Malla Reddy Ranga Reddy took out rallies at the same time and the supporters came face to face with each other at the nomination centre, when they started pelting stones at each other. At least two people including one woman were injured in the clash.

Police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd and additional forces were deployed to control the situation.

Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency is a suburb of Hyderabad in Rangareddy district and is one of the 14 constituencies in Rangareddy. BRS candidate M Kishan Reddy is the incumbent MLA.

November 10 is the last day to file nominations and Telangana goes to polls on November 30, counting will take place on December 3.
