Tihar Authorities Deny Sunita Kejriwal’s Visit to Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Claims

In a recent development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that Tihar Jail authorities have refused permission for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to visit him on Monday. This denial comes despite scheduled visits from Delhi Minister Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to sources, Tihar Jail administration cited the upcoming visit of Delhi Minister Atishi as the reason for denying Sunita Kejriwal’s visit. Jail rules stipulate that only two individuals can visit an inmate at a time, a rule enforced during Bhagwant Mann’s previous visit alongside AAP’s Organisation General Secretary Sandeep Pathak.

Although there’s a possibility for Sunita Kejriwal to meet her husband after Bhagwant Mann’s visit on Tuesday, jail regulations permit only two visits per week. This constraint means that if Atishi meets Arvind Kejriwal on Monday and Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, no further meetings can occur within the same week.

Given these circumstances, it’s likely that Sunita Kejriwal will have to wait until the following week for her visit. Arvind Kejriwal has been in Tihar Jail since April 1 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.

Meanwhile, Sunita Kejriwal has been actively involved in political campaigning, recently leading a massive roadshow in support of AAP’s East Delhi candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. With Arvind Kejriwal’s absence, she is expected to play a significant role in spearheading AAP’s campaign efforts across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.
