Bengal Teachers Recruitment Scam: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Jiban Krishna Saha in the West Bengal teachers recruitment scam case. The TMC MLA was arrested after about 65 hours of questioning. According to CBI sources, he has been arrested in connection with the recruitment of secondary teachers. Jeevan Krishna Saha is being brought to Kolkata after his arrest in the early hours of Monday. Saha is an MLA from Burwan seat in West Bengal. He was arrested from his residence at Burwan in Murshidabad district.
Let us inform that the CBI raided the premises of the TMC MLA. The CBI on Friday raided 6 locations including Birbhum, Murshidabad and Kolkata. The CBI alleges that the TMC MLA from Burwan played a key role in the Saha recruitment scam, which allegedly collected money from candidates for the recruitment of class 9th and 10th teachers.
CBI claims that many documents related to recruitment have been recovered from Jiban Krishna Saha’s house. Many information related to this has also been received from his mobile and pen drive. During the CBI’s interrogation, the MLA had thrown the mobile into the pond. His search is still on. Yesterday, a mobile was recovered after a lot of searches.
The Central Investigation Agency has arrested a total of three MLAs, including Trinamool MLA from Baranya, Jeevan Krishna Saha. Earlier, Behala West MLA Partha Chatterjee was arrested. After that Palashipara Trinamool MLA Manik Bhattacharya was arrested. Jiban Krishna Saha is the third MLA who has been arrested.
