Uttar Pradesh: In a heartbreaking incident on Saturday, three children met with a tragic fate as they drowned while bathing in the Raihar canal, located in the Kishni area of Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district. Despite swift efforts from rescue teams, only one body has been recovered thus far.

Search and Rescue Efforts Underway

Authorities swiftly launched a search and rescue operation following the distressing incident. Deputy Collector Prasoon Kashyap, overseeing the Kishni-Mainpuri area, stated that the mishap occurred when four children ventured to the canal for a bath. Tragically, three of them are still missing.

“We received information that four children had come here together to bathe. Unfortunately, this incident occurred, and three children out of the four are missing,” Kashyap stated, highlighting the severity of the situation. He further mentioned that the rescued child is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

Assistance from State Disaster Response Force

In response to the emergency, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) based in Agra has been deployed to aid in the search efforts. Despite the challenges posed by the swiftly flowing waters, authorities remain committed to locating the missing children and ensuring their safe return.
