In a tragic incident in Lucknow, a 19-year-old girl, Manisha Khan, slipped into the Indira Canal while filming reels with her sisters and friends, with her body remaining untraced.
As authorities gear up for another day of search operations, divers will resume their efforts to locate Manisha Khan’s body in the canal.
According to Ajay Narain Singh, the station house officer of the BBD police station, the mishap occurred during the evening hours on Sunday, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
The news unfolded when Manisha’s sister, Nisha Khan, along with her friend Deepali, contacted UP 112 emergency services, reporting the tragic incident that had occurred while filming reels for their social media page.
Eyewitnesses, including villagers at the scene, corroborated the account, adding to the urgency of the situation.
SHO Singh revealed that video footage retrieved from Nisha’s mobile phone captured the harrowing moment when Manisha slipped into the canal while they were dancing and filming reels.
Despite immediate efforts by divers, Manisha’s body could not be recovered. Reports indicate that Manisha, accompanied by her sisters and friends, had embarked on an outing to the Indira Canal from Munshi Pullia, where the tragic incident occurred.
