Twist in Prajwal Revanna sex scandal, Woman claims she was forced to file ‘False Complaint’

NCW said on Thursday that in one of these cases, the complainant woman has claimed that she was forced by a group of people to lodge a false complaint by threatening her with harassment.

Bengaluru: In a new twist to the sex video scandal involving sitting JD-S MP Prajwal Revanna in Karnataka, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday said that in one of the cases, the woman complainant has claimed that she was raped by a group of people. Forced to file a false complaint by threatening harassment.

The NCW said in a statement, “A woman complainant had come to the Commission to lodge a complaint against three persons dressed in civil uniform, who allegedly posed as Karnataka Police officers and charged her with filing a false complaint in this case.” Put pressure on.

The woman claimed that she received threatening calls to lodge a complaint. It has been learned that the complainant was forced to lodge a complaint by a group of persons by making false allegations and threatening her with possible harassment.

NCW said that the complainant has sought security for her family citing the seriousness of the situation and has also asked Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan to provide proper security to the woman. Prajwal Revanna Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s grandson and son of JD-S MLA HD Revanna, who has been arrested for his alleged role in the kidnapping of the victim of a sex scandal involving his son.

The NCW statement said, “In a separate development, it is noted that the 700 women who lodged online complaints are associated with a social activist group and have no direct involvement or connection with the complainant in the case. “NCW is determined to condemn any form of violence or sexual exploitation against women. Recent developments related to the Prajwal Revanna case have prompted NCW to take prompt and decisive action.”

The statement said that in response to disturbing media reports, NCW initiated the suo motu action demonstrating its commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of women. “A letter was immediately sent to the Director General of Police (DGP), requesting him to take immediate action and fix accountability within a time frame of three days and timely submission of action taken report by the concerned officers,” the NCW said in the statement. “Many important findings emerged from the visit.”

The statement said that NCW is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to address their concerns and maintaining constant communication with Karnataka Police authorities. It said the NCW reiterates its commitment to justice and security for women and emphasizes the importance of evidence-based investigation on premature decisions.
