Prayagraj: The North Central Railway said that two coaches and the engine of the Suhaildev Express train running between Delhi’s Anand Vihar and Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur city derailed at Prayagraj railway station around 9 pm on Tuesday night.
Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), North Central Railway (NCR), Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said, “The train started from the station and two wheels of the engine went off the track. Two coaches behind the engine also got derailed. However, no casualty was reported.”
He added,”All operations on the route are normal. The incident occurred around 9 pm and the train is set to depart shortly. We will investigate the cause of the derailment.”
The incident took place on platform number six when the train had received the green signal and had just started off, according to sources. A source said,”Some wheels of the coaches derailed. No one was injured.”
