UP CM Yogi Adityanath sanctions two more expressways to enhance connectivity and develop tourism

Lucknow: In its endeavor to establish Uttar Pradesh as a premier tourist destination in the country, the Yogi government is actively engaged to develop expressways for better connectivity, so that devotees from across the country and the world can take advantage of the journey on the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj Kumbh 2025.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while reviewing the updated status of the construction of expressways in the state on Friday, provided directives to create a strategic action plan for the establishment of two new expressways. The Chief Minister underscores key guidelines during this special meeting.

The state government will build a link expressway of about 60 kilometers to connect Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Purvanchal Expressway. With its construction, all the expressways of the state will be connected. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed officials to prepare and present a detailed action plan regarding the Link Expressway. He said that keeping in view the public aspirations, there is a need to connect Farrukhabad district with Ganga Expressway.

According to CMO, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has embraced a new identity through expressways in the last six and a half years. After dedicating the Purvanchal Express, and Bundelkhand Express to the nation, currently Ganga Expressway, Ballia Link and Gorakhpur Link Expressway are currently being constructed. It is imperative to ensure these projects are completed within stipulated timelines while upholding the highest standards of quality. To further improve the riding quality of Bundelkhand Express, the ongoing maintenance work should be completed on time,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that the Bundelkhand Expressway is to be developed as a solar expressway. Similarly, plantation should be done in the northern part of Purvanchal Expressway and solar power plants should be developed in the southern part. With these efforts, this expressway will be presented as a model on the national stage.

He said that the aim is to make the Ganga Expressway connecting Meerut to Prayagraj available to the general public by December 2024. With this, devotees from across the country and the world can take advantage of traveling on the Ganga Expressway for the Prayagraj Kumbh to be held in the year 2025. He asked the ministers to speed up the work of Ganga Expressway by conducting regular reviews.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of construction of Gorakhpur Link Expressway, the Chief Minister said that it will become an excellent medium for the people of Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Azamgarh and Ambedkar Nagar districts. Its construction should be completed on time.

The Chief Minister said that the process of development of 30 industrial corridors on both sides of the five expressways Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, Ganga, Agra-Lucknow and Gorakhpur Link Expressway should be expedited. 11 industrial corridors will be developed along the Ganga Expressway, six in Bundelkhand, five in Agra-Lucknow, six in Purvanchal and two in Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
