UP Government Takes Technological Leap with Speech Recognition Software for Legislative Assembly

In a strategic move to propel Uttar Pradesh into the forefront of technological advancement, the Yogi Adityanath government is focusing on upgrading the efficiency of the state’s legislative assembly through the adoption of cutting-edge technology. As part of this initiative, plans are in motion to implement speech recognition software within the legislative assembly.

The anticipated software is poised to introduce a range of features aimed at facilitating a smooth and structured conduct of sessions within the legislative assembly. A tender has been issued for the development and procurement of this innovative software, with the entire process being managed through the e-tender portal.

It is noteworthy that several states across the country have already digitized their legislative assembly proceedings using the National e-Vidhan application. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh embraced this technological transformation in May 2022, introducing the e-Vidhan application in the legislative assembly. Since then, all sessions have been conducted using this application, marking a significant stride towards a more tech-savvy and efficient legislative process.

As outlined in the e-tender applications sought by the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly secretariat in Lucknow, the speech recognition software is designed to include various features. It is equipped to eliminate noise-related interference during live telecasts of the assembly sessions, thereby enhancing live feeds and improving video output. This technological upgrade is not only expected to benefit the media through high-quality video and voice feeds but also signifies a progressive step in the state’s commitment to modernize legislative processes.

The development and utilization of this speech recognition software will be entrusted to technology companies with a significant presence in Uttar Pradesh and expertise in this field. The selected entity will undertake the comprehensive task of establishing the entire system, including the acquisition and setup of the necessary equipment for the flawless execution of the software during legislative assembly proceedings.

The deadline for e-tender applications through the portal is December 4, with all work allocation and software purchase processes adhering to the rule book of the Uttar Pradesh government.
