Henry County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cyntonia Moore said suspect Andre Longmore was shot during the search. An intense manhunt began in a subdivision of Hampton, located south of Georgia’s main city, following a Saturday morning shooting.

Moore said law enforcement officers shot Longmore in a nearby area in Clayton County. A Henry County sheriff’s deputy and a Clayton County police officer were injured while attempting to arrest Longmore. Moore said he did not know much about the status of either officer.

Police said Longmore is accused of shooting several people in Hampton, on the outskirts of Atlanta. He was wanted in these murder cases. The police was continuously searching for him in connection with the murder of four people.

At least four people were killed in a mass shooting in a small community south of Atlanta in the US state of Georgia. A statement from a Henry County official said the police incident happened Saturday morning in Hampton, about 40 miles south of Atlanta. The population here is about eight and a half thousand.
