Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami Invites PM Modi to Inaugurate Dehradun Investment Conference

State Information Department Reports Discussions Between CM Dhami and PM Modi on Uttarakhand Issues, Including Successful Rescue of 41 Trapped Workers in Uttarkashi Tunne.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, extending a formal invitation for the inauguration of the upcoming Global Investment Conference scheduled to take place in Dehradun on December 8 and 9.

Addressing various crucial state matters, the leaders also discussed the successful rescue of 41 workers trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel. In a statement released by the state information department, CM Dhami expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for incorporating the Jamarani Dam Project into the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, securing an allocation of Rs 1,730.21 crore.

During the meeting, CM Dhami sought approval for Rs 2,460 crore as financial assistance for the capital expenditure of the Song Dam Drinking Water Project. Additionally, he requested special financial assistance of Rs 3,000 crore for the enhancement of Jolly Grant Airport. The CM also urged the establishment of an All India Ayurveda Institute at the Rishikul Ayurvedic College campus in Haridwar, and proposed the inclusion of Uttarakhand in the Kiwi Feasibility Study conducted in collaboration with New Zealand.

Furthermore, CM Dhami appealed for the PM’s approval on various road and tunnel projects. He sought permission for the development and construction of proposed hydropower projects on the Dhauliganga and Gauri Ganga rivers in the Pithoragarh district, along with 11 projects in Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, and its tributaries, boasting a collective capacity of 771 MW.
