Yoga Day to Begin from Adi Kailash, Uttarakhand


Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will kick off International Yoga Day on June 21 at Parvati Sarovar, Adi Kailash. This marks the first time Yoga Day celebrations will begin from Adi Kailash, a site increasingly popular among tourists and devotees.

Historic Location: Adi Kailash, located in Pithoragarh district, gained prominence after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit last year, which boosted its appeal as a tourist and pilgrimage destination.

Significance of Venue: The state government decided to celebrate Yoga Day at Adi Kailash to promote the site and its spiritual significance.

Program Activities:
The event will feature various yoga practices such as Anulom-Vilom and Pranayama, conducted amidst the serene, snow-covered hills of Adi Kailash.

AYUSH Department’s Role: Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary AYUSH, mentioned that the 10th International Yoga Day will include programs in every district, with the main event at Adi Kailash being a highlight.

The 10th International Yoga Day on June 21 will be notably special as it starts from the spiritually significant site of Adi Kailash.
