Virat Kohli Strike Rate Controversy: Commentators have been commenting about Virat Kohli’s strike rate in IPL 2024, on which Kohli had hit back on April 28. At the same time, former Indian cricketer and commentator Sunil Gavaskar seems quite angry over Kohli’s comments. On Saturday, he also took on broadcaster Star Sports along with Kohli on this matter.

In fact, before the match between RCB and GT in Bengaluru, this comment of Virat Kohli and the commentator criticizing Virat’s strike rate was being shown repeatedly on Star Sports. Due to which Sunil Gavaskar got angry and expressed his displeasure at the broadcaster and criticized him for repeatedly showing negative comments. This happened when he was holding the mic of Star Sports during the live telecast.

Gavaskar said, “Commentators commented on Virat’s strike rate only when it was 118. I have not watched all the matches so I don’t know what other commentators have said, ‘If the batsman has batted at a strike rate of 118 and his strike rate remains the same for 14-15 overs and he is out. If it’s done, I don’t know what kind of praise he would want for it. However, Star Sports should not show only negative comments again and again.

The former Indian cricketer did not stop here, he further replied to Kohli’s reaction and said, ‘Whoever says that he does not care about outside discussions, why are you replying to him? We commentators have no agenda. We speak what we see. It is not necessary that we like or dislike. Even if we have likes or dislikes, we still say what we see happening.

Let us tell you that on April 28, Kohli played an explosive inning of 70 runs in 44 balls against GT in Ahmedabad. After the end of this match, Kohli answered the questions arising on his batting, especially the strike rate. He said, ‘All those people who are talking about my strike rate and saying that I am not playing well, they enjoy talking like this. It doesn’t matter to me. I am doing my work.
