Yogi Adityanath Slams SP, Highlights Transformative Changes in UP’s Governance

In a fierce critique aimed at the Samajwadi Party (SP), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted that Uttar Pradesh has undergone a remarkable transformation since 2017. Speaking during a debate on supplementary grants, he accused the SP of neglecting the issues of the ‘Pichhda, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak’ (PDA) community during its tenure.

Adityanath highlighted incidents such as the killing of BSP MLA Raju Pal, questioning the SP’s commitment to the PDA cause. He contended that the SP, during its rule, turned Uttar Pradesh into a “centre of crime, anarchy, and riots,” claiming that criminal morale and land mafia activities were rampant.

The Chief Minister emphasized the change in the state’s atmosphere since 2017, attributing it to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime. He stated that the recent Global Investors’ Summit-2023 had positioned Uttar Pradesh as an attractive investment destination, garnering proposals worth ₹40 lakh crore.

Under Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has seen significant growth, reaching nearly ₹24 lakh crore from around ₹13 lakh crore in 2016-2017. The per capita income of the state has also risen, setting a benchmark for others to follow.

Adityanath responded to the SP’s focus on caste issues by quoting Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He emphasized his priorities, considering farmers, women’s respect, and youth employment as the most significant concerns.

Taking a swipe at opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav, Adityanath pointed out irregularities in projects during the SP government’s tenure. He highlighted cost overruns in the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre and the Gomti Riverfront project, citing ongoing inquiries by investigative agencies.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a positive narrative of Uttar Pradesh’s progress under his governance, signaling a shift away from the alleged chaos and neglect observed during the SP’s rule.
