Yogi Adityanath Targets Congress Over Mahadev Betting App Scam in Chhattisgarh Election Campaign

In Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath initiated his election campaign for five poll-bound states by strongly targeting the Bhupesh Baghel-led government. He highlighted the Mahadev betting app scam and raised concerns about religious conversions. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had recently alleged that ₹508 crore in bribes were paid to Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel by the promoters of the alleged operation. Yogi accused the Congress of a series of wrongdoings, including corruption and religious insensitivity.

Yogi wasted no time in criticizing the Congress, declaring it a source of problems, including terrorism, lawlessness, and corruption. He mentioned the Mahadev app scam, portraying it as a massive financial swindle affecting thousands of people, which, in his view, exposed the extent of Congress’s corruption.

In a series of public meetings, Yogi recited a couplet from the Ramcharitmanas and urged the people to pledge to eliminate corruption in Chhattisgarh, drawing a parallel with Lord Ram’s mission to rid the land of devils.

He further connected Chhattisgarh to Uttar Pradesh by mentioning the inauguration of the Ram temple and consecration of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, as the announcement of the start of “Ram Rajya.” Yogi promised that under “Ram Rajya,” government schemes would benefit all without discrimination, covering those who had been excluded for decades.

Yogi accused the Congress government of exploiting the poor, farmers, laborers, youth, and various sections of society, while also raising issues like the cow dung scam and lathi charges on Ram Navami.

He criticized the government for encouraging religious conversions and inciting people against the system, suggesting that it amounted to cheating the people whose ancestors had supported Lord Ram in eliminating evil forces.

Yogi highlighted the benefits enjoyed by people in BJP-ruled states and promised that once the BJP replaced the Congress in Chhattisgarh, its residents would also receive similar benefits.

In summary, Yogi Adityanath’s campaign in Chhattisgarh emphasized his criticism of the Congress government, particularly regarding corruption and religious issues, and promised better governance under the BJP.
