Yogi Government Implements Zero-Tolerance Policy, Terminates Officials for Corruption

Lucknow: In a decisive move, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh terminated several officials on Wednesday, citing charges of misuse of power, negligence in duty, and corruption, according to reliable sources.

Among those dismissed was Anuj Saxena, the Consolidation Officer of Muzaffarnagar, for alleged failure to fulfill his duties. The government also withheld the annual salary increment of Shiv Shankar Prasad Singh, a Consolidation Officer posted in Ballia, and terminated the services of Assistant Consolidation Officer Manoj Kumar Neeraj in Meerut. An FIR has been directed against Neeraj by the state police.

Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar disclosed that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Nitin Chauhan, Assistant Consolidation Officer of Amroha. Departmental action is underway against Consolidation Officer Awadhesh Kumar Gupta, as well as Assistant Consolidation Officers Santosh Kumar Yadav and Akhilesh Kumar, for alleged irregularities in Bani village, Etawah district. Lekhpal Consolidation Officer Om Narayan faced suspension, according to official sources.

Naveen Kumar emphasized that all consolidation authorities in the state must fulfill their official responsibilities diligently, warning of strict action if they fail to do so. In the ongoing financial year 2023-24, 1,34,425 cases have been resolved, and the consolidation process for 231 villages has been completed and promulgated under the Land Consolidation Act.

In a parallel move, the Electricity Department witnessed similar actions under Chief Minister Adityanath’s zero-tolerance policy towards misuse of power. Sarosa Fatehganj SDO Aman Tiwari was suspended for alleged embezzlement and misuse of his position. The suspension also cited accusations of electricity theft in several houses through illegal cable stretching beyond permissible limits, endangering lives and violating connection rules.

These stringent measures align with the state government’s commitment to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and adherence to the rule of law in various departments.
