New Delhi: YSRTP chief YS Sharmila was detained by the police on Tuesday during a protest against the Telangana government. According to information, YS Sharmila was detained by the Delhi Police this morning during a protest against the government of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
In a video shared by news agency, YS Sharmila can be seen protesting. During this, YS Sharmila, wearing a light blue saree, can be seen being escorted into a white vehicle by female police and security personnel. During this, the supporters of YS Sharmila were raising slogans of KCR down-down. “India has seen many big scams. I am here today to throw light on the biggest scam in the country, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project scam. We will march to the Parliament to show how big how big this scam is,” Sharmila said while holding agitation.
Sharmila has expressed her dismay against the authorities for not initiating any action, audit or inquiry regarding the alleged irregularities, which she claims were “already in public”, adding that they should attract the attention of the entire country. “The cost of the project was increased from Rs 38,500 crore to Rs 1.20 lakh crore, but yesterday, BRS minister claimed that only 1.5 lakh acres of land was irrigated. This shows that Kaleshwaram is the biggest flop show, But the pockets of a contractor and a family are full,” She alleged.
She futher said, “KCR’s redesign conspiracy was itself motivated by the intention of looting the exchequer, and the quality of the project was so poor that it collapsed within three years. While 2 TMC per day could have been used, they used it for half the TMC It didn’t even stop, Sharmila said, proving that the entire Rs 1.20 lakh crore had gone down the drain.” She alleged that Chief Minister KCR is “full of lies and dishonesty”.
“Besides, the cost of loan repayment and electricity bills are forcing Telangana to ruin. KCR is full of lies and dishonesty, while the late YSR also ensured that the canal work is almost complete. Only KCR had to continue with the original plan and execute it,” She said.
The YSR Telangana party chief said, “Today, the whole of India has the right to demand an explanation, as every Indian’s money was looted to award a contract to a company which was favored with KCR. Central financial institutions extended a loan of ₹1 lakh crore, hence the country’s loss is in.” She termed the Kaleshwaram project as a “disaster and a blot” and accused KCR of a change in stand on the project.
