3 Associates of foreign based terrorist group Landa, Rinda arrested by Punjab AGTF

In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has successfully arrested three associates of Canada-based Lakbir Landa and Pakistan-based Harwinder Rinda terrorists.

Punjab: In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has successfully arrested three associates of Canada-based Lakbir Landa and Pakistan-based Harwinder Rinda terrorists. The detained individuals, identified as Jobanjit Singh alias Joban, Bikramjit Singh alias Bikka, and Kulwinder Singh alias Kala, were found to be engaged in criminal activities under the instructions of their foreign handlers, according to police sources.

Jobanjit is wanted in UAPA, Arms Act, NDPS Act and IT Act offences and remained absconding for long. Two pistols and 10 live cartridges have also been confiscated from the accused.

Initial investigation has unveiled that the accused were carrying out criminal activities on the directions of their foreign handlers, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav informed.

In another incident on Monday, two men who were involved in procuring arms illegally from several states, including Uttar Pradesh, were arrested in Punjab.

Two pistols and 20 cartridges were seized from Navjot Singh alias Mani Baba and Karan, Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Vatsala Gupta told reporters.

Acting on a tip off, both were residents of Musakved and arrested from Mehtan bridge, police said.

Earlier, on February 4, AGTF Punjab had arrested three operatives linked to foreign-based gangster Goldie Brar in a joint operation with Chandigarh Police and central agencies. These persons were implicated in the firing incident in a residential area of ​​Chandigarh on January 19, 2024. After committing the crime, they fled to Bihar, but were traced on their way to Uttar Pradesh and caught at Gorakhpur Railway Station with the assistance of Gorakhpur Police. ,
