Gurugram: A 30-year-old man has been arrested for killing seven-month-old daughter of his brother in a fit of rage after he found out that his wife had married him while he (his younger brother) was in jail. According to the information he was recently released from jail.
The arrested has been identified as Vijay Sahani (30). He was a native of Bihar. Hours after he allegedly killed the infant girl, he was arrested by the police.
During the investigation, the police said that the accused’s estranged wife mentioned that Vijay was lodged in Gurugram’s Bhondsi jail in a chain snatching case for the last four years.
While Vijay was in jail, the woman married his younger brother and later gave birth to a girl. He came out of jail on April 24. Subsequently, an argument broke out between the accused and his estranged wife on the intervening night of April 24 and April 25.
After this, in a fit of rage, Vijay killed the girl by slamming her on the floor and fled. The police received information that an unconscious body of a girl was found in the Nathupura village area after which police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The police added that the girl was rushed to the civil hospital where doctors declared her dead. A police official said,”The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. Further investigation is underway.”
