New Delhi: Rain mayhem in Himachal Pradesh. In the third major rain-related tragedy in Himachal Pradesh in less than 24 hours, seven people were washed away in flash floods. Sharing a video clip from Sambal village in Mandi district, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said relief and rescue operations are underway to deal with the “terrible situation”. In the hill state, 28 people have died in the last two days in incidents related to incessant rains.
Tragic pictures have come to the fore from Sambhal and Pandoh in Mandi, in which seven people were washed away in the sudden flood. The rescue and relief team is actively working. In the video, the water is seen gushing down very quickly and the man behind the camera can be heard saying “Oh God” repeatedly.

Earlier, 16 people had died in two separate incidents related to heavy rains. Seven people were killed after a cloudburst occurred in Solan district last night, while a Shiv temple collapsed in a landslide in Summer Hill area of Shimla city, killing nine others.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has appealed to the people to stay indoors and avoid going near drains and rivers. In an interview with sources, he asked people to stay away from landslide prone areas and urged tourists not to visit the state during this crisis.
More than 750 roads, including the Shimla-Kalka National Highway and Shimla–Mataur road, have been closed due to landslides and flooding. Flash floods were also reported in Bilaspur district, damaging key infrastructure.
