Congress: On Sunday, Congress suffered another jolt when Bina MLA Nirmala Sapre joined BJP in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Nirmala Sapre joined BJP just two days before polling in Sagar.
After joining the saffron party, Sapre said that Congress has no agenda for the future and she has joined the development stream. Bina comes under Sagar Lok Sabha constituency, where polling will be held on May 7.
She said, “PM Modi and CM Mohan Yadav have the agenda of development. I have joined the development stream. Congress has no agenda for the future. It has no hope of development in the future.”
Nirmala is the only woman MLA out of the 8 assembly seats in Sagar district and Congress was successful in winning only Bina seat. Nirmala Sapre defeated two-time BJP MLA Mahesh Rai by about 6 thousand votes. Now with Nirmala Sapre joining BJP, Sagar has become Congress free.
