New Delhi : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the BJP-led Centre for excluding the tableaux of AAP-led governments in Delhi and Punjab from the Republic Day parade. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party alleges that the Centre’s decision is a deliberate attempt to thwart the Delhi government’s plans to showcase its achievements in health and education on the national stage.
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar, addressing a press conference, stated that the government did not provide any reasons for the exclusion, asserting that the decision was politically motivated. According to Kakkar, the Delhi government aimed to highlight its successful education and health models during the Republic Day parade, but the Centre’s rejection prevented this.
Priyanka Kakkar further claimed that BJP-ruled states, such as Assam, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh, have consistently been given opportunities to showcase their tableaux for the past five years. She asserted that this pattern of favoritism demonstrates political bias in the selection process.
In addition to Delhi, AAP ruled Punjab’s tableaux also faced exclusion. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized the BJP for this omission, suggesting that it reflects an attempt to erase the mention of Punjab from the national anthem.
The AAP contends that the exclusion of their government’s tableaux is an attempt to suppress and undermine the showcasing of successful models in education and health. The party expresses dissatisfaction with the perceived bias in favor of BJP-ruled states.
