Amid speculation surrounding the extended absence of AAP leader Raghav Chadha from the political arena, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj revealed that Chadha underwent major eye surgery in the UK. Bharadwaj disclosed that Chadha’s condition was critical, with a risk of losing eyesight.
Chadha’s absence coincides with a tumultuous period for AAP, triggered by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in a liquor policy case. AAP had previously stated that Chadha traveled to the UK for vitrectomy surgery to prevent retinal detachment.
Chadha, who has been in London since March 8, has been inactive on social media, raising eyebrows amid ongoing political developments. Last month, BJP criticized Chadha for meeting UK Parliamentarian Preet Kaur Gill, accusing her of advocating Khalistani separatism.
The prolonged absence has drawn scrutiny, with BJP questioning the timing and purpose of Chadha’s stay in London. Amidst the speculation, Delhi minister Atishi suggested that Chadha and four other AAP leaders could face arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the coming months.
