Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee said that his party was keen on an alliance with the Congress. He said that he also went to meet Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at 6 in the morning to discuss this. Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, described TMC as the true representative of the Indian coalition.

Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday; Said that if I was not serious, I would not have gone to Delhi to meet Rahul Gandhi at six in the morning. We were interested in an alliance with Congress for the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. Congress State President Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary kept taking digs at our party for months, but despite this we did not react for a long time.

He further said that we had given time to Congress till 31 December 2023, but we could not wait more than this. We had to prepare for the elections. Till December 31, 2023, none of the candidates of our party including Mamata Banerjee reacted to Adhir Ranjan’s statements. Abhishek Banerjee said that the seat sharing talks failed due to the hostile attitude of the state unit of Congress.
