Action against seller after man finds alive rat inside bread packet ordered from Blinkit

New Delhi: Instant grocery delivery platform BlinkIt has taken strong action against a seller after a man posts picture of bread packet allegedly delivered by Blinkit with living mouse trapped inside. A user named Nitin Arora has shared the story of this incident with him on social media. On Twitter, Nitin told that he had ordered a packet of bread from the Blinkit app claiming home delivery. When the packet came to him, he was surprised. There was a mouse inside the packet.

Even more surprising is that when the packet was given to them, the rat was still alive. The delivery agent reached the house with a live rat in the packet and did not even know it.

Taking to Twitter, Nitin wrote, “Worst experience with @letsblinkit. Ordered a packet of bread on 1st Feb 2023 with a live rat inside. This is a warning to all of us.” Tagging @blinkitcares, Nitin further wrote, “If such item comes in 10 minutes delivery, I would prefer to wait for few hours rather than receive such item.” Along with this, Arora has also posted a picture of a rat in the packet.

“Yes, I can see, your concern is genuine. I deeply apologise to you for this issue. We have noted this and will escalate it from our end. Your feedback for this specific incident has been noted and we will surely take corrective measures to improve the same,” said the support executive.

A Twitter user has also shared the video of this incident. It is speculated that he may have been present at the time of the incident and may have made the video. At the moment, users are pulling Blinkit for delivering a rat in a packet.

Dhananjay Shashidharan, Head Of Customer Delight at Blinkit, took note of the incident and said that they have de-listed the partner store. ” I want to assure you, we’ve taken swift action already and de-listed the partner store, even as we are investigating the matter with the store owner. We have high standards for hygiene at all our stores, and with this incident, we have increased the frequency of audits at the store networks.”
