Afghanistan: One person killed, 18 injured after a mini bus fell into a gorge in Takhar

Kabul: At least one person was killed and 18 others were injured when a minibus fell into a gorge in Afghanistan Takhar province. Kabul: At least one person was killed and 18 others were injured when a minibus fell into a gorge in Afghanistan Takhar province. Taliban-led provincial police spokesman Abdul Mubin Safi was quoted as saying by Press that the accident occurred in Rustagh province when a driver lost control of the vehicle due to reckless driving. At least one person died on the spot and 18 others, including three children and a woman, were injured when a bus fell into a gorge.

The police spokesman said that the injured were taken to the hospital. This is the second traffic accident in the last four days.

Earlier, at least two people were killed and nine others were injured in an accident in Wardak province on Friday, according to Khama Press. Meanwhile, one person was killed and three others were injured in a traffic accident in Parwan province, Press reported. A car collided with a motorcycle in the Sar-e-Khwaja Sayaran area of ​​Charikar city in Parwan province, according to a statement.

Khama Press quoted officials from the Provincial Security Command as saying that the bike rider was killed in the accident, while three others, including a woman, were injured. In another accident, at least one person was killed and five others were injured when a minibus overturned in Afghanistan’s Central Province on Wednesday.

Experts have said that Afghanistan has seen an increase in traffic accidents due to reckless driving, poorly maintained automobiles, broken and unpaved roads and disregard for traffic rules.
