Visakhapatnam: On Thursday, An official said that a massive fire broke out at Indus Hospital in the operation theatre on the second floor of the hospital in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. After receiving information about this incident fire tenders were reached on the spot.

Visakhapatnam: On Thursday, An official said that a massive fire broke out at Indus Hospital in the operation theatre on the second floor of the hospital in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. After receiving information about this incident fire tenders were reached on the spot.

This incident happened near Jagadamba Junction in Vizag in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The officials said passengers all patients have been evacuated safely. The smoke spread rapidly to the rest of the floors, trapping several patients.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Ravi Shankar Ayyanar said, “The fire broke out at Sindhu Hospital in Visakhapatnam around 12 noon. There were around 50-70 patients there. We have evacuated all of them. Now there is no one there.” As per the hospital MRO, the accident was caused by a short circuit.

Ravi Shankar Ayyanar further informed that there is no loss of life in the accident. The reason for the fire is the operation theater. However, nothing can be said about this subject. This truth can be known after investigation. On receiving the information, firemen reached the spot with two fire engines and tried to bring the fire under control.

Hospital security personnel broke windows to vent the thick smoke. Greater Vizag Municipal Corporation officials have also reached the hospital and are monitoring the situation. Additional Commissioner of GVMC said that appropriate action will be taken. Relatives of the patients, police and local people gathered, causing a huge traffic jam.
